The short version
We collect the minimum we need to run a publication. We don't sell your data. We don't run third-party ad tracking. We don't share with social networks unless you click through to them.
What we collect
Email address
If you subscribe to the newsletter or sign up for a free account, your email is stored by Ghost, our membership platform, on infrastructure we control. Ghost issues a magic-link sign-in flow; we do not see your password (there isn't one).
Payment information
If you become a paid member, payment is processed by Stripe. Five Reds never sees your card details. Stripe stores them under their own privacy policy.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-preserving by default: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, page views and referrers only. Aggregate data only.
Server logs
Vercel keeps standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) for a short retention window for fraud and abuse prevention. We don't link them to your member account.
What we don't do
- No third-party advertising trackers.
- No data sales.
- No sharing with social networks unless you actively click out to one.
- No profiling, fingerprinting, or behavioural retargeting.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@fivereds.io and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also unsubscribe from any email with one click; that removes your address from the active list immediately.
