Five rookies on the grid this year. One is the second-year midfield's quiet revolution. One is the future Mercedes are betting on. Two are fighting for their seats already.
The rookie chart of the year. A driver-of-the-day in Mexico on a track he'd never raced; quietly outrunning Russell in race trim more often than the head-to-head suggests. Mercedes are starting to plan next season around him.
The Haas garage knows. The market knows. Eight points-finishes from a car that should have produced two. Cadillac and Audi have both made enquiries; Haas have already extended him for 2027 to 2028.
Outqualified by his veteran teammate 12-8 but outraced him 11-9, a familiar rookie pattern. The Audi has been the worst car this year; the points he's scored have all come in races nobody finished.
A heavy season after a strong half-cameo in 2024. Five DNFs, three of them his own doing. Doohan is being talked about for 2027. The Argentina money keeps him in the conversation; nothing else does.
A late-season promotion away from Tsunoda's drive, and the Red Bull camp's internal view is he's already faster than Lawson. Will be in a Red Bull main-team seat by 2028 if the curve holds.
